The International Faculty of Informatics was established in 1990 to train both the students from the former Soviet Union Republics and overseas. Students from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, China, Chile, Djibouti, Greece, Georgia, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Nigeria, Republic of Korea, Republic of Moldova, Serbia, Syrian Arab Republic, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, USA, Uzbekistan, Vietnam have studied at MIREA.
International students study together with Russian students. Foreign applicants who don’t have the certificate TORFL-I (Test of Russian as a Foreign Language level I) take the Preparatory courses within a year, where they are thought Russian language.

Several additional professional training courses are actively developed at MIREA including Cisco Academy, Higher International School of Business, Computer Technology and others. Cisco Academy carries out training of Cisco Certified Network Associate, Cisco Certified Network Professional, Network security, Wireless LANS, Streaming video in IP networks. Higher International School of Business and Computer Technology offers the programmes "Master of business administration" and "Technological management".
Enrolment requirements
For entering the Preparatory courses, the following documents shall be provided:
- Certificate of completed secondary education and 2 certified translation into Russian;
- Application form;
- 8 black-and-white (size of 3x4cm);
- Original invitation letter;
- Medical health certificate with HIV/AIDS test and 2 certified translations into Russian language;
- Official bank receipt confirming full payment of tuition fee.
Tuition fees range from:
- Bachelor’s degree programmes — from $2600 to $2800 per year;
- Engineer's diploma programmes — from $2600 to $2800 per year;
- Master’s degree programmes — from $2700 to $2900 per year;
- Preparatory courses — from $2500 per year.
On average our students pay about $190 to $220 rent for the hostel accommodation per month. Our students typically spend from $250 to $350 per month on food and living. International students must also pay for health insurance, of about $150 — $200 per year.
